I've been coming to Silver Saddle Saloon for about 6 months now. This unique establishment just keeps
calling me back, and I'm always game to visit again. When you walk through the doors of the main entrance, you immediately feel the Old West vibe as it flows from the streets of the Granbury Square and into the saloon. And by the word "saloon", please don't presume that alcohol is the predominant elixer of choice at the Silver Saddle. Silver Saddle is more of an ice creamerery than anything! Yes. When you come on in, there is a bar on your left hand side that has many, many of some of the most unique flavors of ice cream that I've ever seen. Most are custom flavors that you can't get anywhere else. Some are old fashioned, and some flavors are just very interesting and delicious concoctions. And if you arrive at the right time, you will see some of the staff making the waffle cones right in front of you. There is definitely nothing "cookie cutter" about the ice cream in this place. But why stop at talking about the ice cream? I mean, the ice cream is a good enough reason by itself to get anyone up and into the Silver Saddle, but there is so much more. For one, there is a kitchen in the back that whips up some very nice food. The menu is not exhaustive, but everything is top notch. You can get chicken sliders (aka "chickies"), bbq pork sliders (aka "piggies"), panini's, bbq pulled pork sandwiches, southwest chicken salad, and more. Yet another reason to visit (for those of us over the age of 21), is that there is a full-service bar in the back of Silver Saddle. You can get a glass of wine on the Granbury square at one of many establishments, but this is the only place I know of where you can hang out and order an Old Fashioned while not feeling any dress code pressure. Of course, there is plenty of cold bottled beer to drink if you like, but the fabulous staff genuinely excel at mixing you what you are looking for. Speaking of the staff...they are the best in town. Everyone wears 1880's period clothing and they are the friendliest folks that I've met in a long time. Server's with names like "Rebel" and "Trouble" will take care of you with a smile and friendly conversation. They truly make this oasis feel like home once you walk in the door. Something else that I need to impress is that Silver Saddle Saloon is extraordinarily family friendly. Everyone is welcome. And to keep the young ones, or the young-at-heart, entertained while waiting on lunch or just waiting around, there are plenty of games throughout the saloon. You can get on one of the checker boards downstairs to beat the time. And upstairs there is a full-sized billiards table as well as a full-sized poker table that can accommodate up to ten players! And if gaming isn't your cup-of-tea, then there is also a book share library upstairs next to the pool table and plenty of comfy chairs in which to relax. Check out their web page at www.silversaddlesaloongranbury.com to keep up with the current events as there is live music every weekend, Two-Step Tuesdays every 2nd and 4th week of the month, free Texas Hold 'Em every Thursday (with a $150 cash prize) and more. This place is truly hopping! Silver Saddle Saloon is located on the historic Granbury square at 124 N Houston St. and is open from 11am-1pm Tuesday through Thursday, 11am - midnight on Friday and Saturday, and then on Sunday from noon to 8pm. If you have any questions, they can be reached at 817-964-3555. Love Always, Ali Ullom, Realtor Granbury, TX
